Steve and I have been showing Borzoi
since 1975. Most of our dogs have been owner handled to
their championships. We have had specialty winners, group
placers and an all-breed Best In Show
winner.
We have been lure coursing Borzoi since the late 70s. We
have also shown our Borzoi in obedience, rally
and agility trials.
We enjoy helping clubs put on dog events.
We are life members of the Borzoi Club of America. I
served BCOA as treasurer for 7 years, region 6 governor for 2
years and I am still on
several committees. We are life members of the
Midwest Borzoi Club. We have been awarded both the Breeder
Award and the Service Award for the Midwest Borzoi Club.
I served MBC as a director, treasurer, corresponding secretary (2010-2016), and president (2017-2019).
I am currently the MBC webmaster and Bulletin editor. We were active members of the Dayton
Kennel Club (conformation shows) for over 30 years. I am a long time (over 35 years) member of
the Dayton Dog Training Club. DDTC holds AKC trial for obedience, rally, agility and scentwork.
I am currently an instructor. Steve and I are founders and still active members of the OKI
Gazehound Association of Ohio (OKIGO) that hold AKC and ASFA lure coursing trials. Steve and I have
been lure coursing judges for ASFA since 1986 and have been AKC lure coursing judges since 1991.
We have judged puppy & veteran (conformation) sweepstakes for several Borzoi specialty clubs.
I judged the Futurity at the 2000 Borzoi National Specialty, and I judged the sweepstakes at the
2012 Borzoi National Specialty.
All our Borzoi live in the house
with us, and run together in the yards. We always had several house cats until recently.
We now have 2 Shetland Sheepdogs, "Chance"and
" James" . In the past, we have had Shetland Sheepdog "
Kyle" (2007-2020) who I earned several obedience and agility titles with, a whippet
Dusty (2000 - 2014) who I enjoyed showing and lure coursing,
an Irish Setter "Artley's Jake Larue C.D." who was the first dog I earned an obedience
title with, and four All-Americans "Annie" who could jump a 6 foot fence, "Samantha"
"Heather" and "Barney". For many years, we had horses here and a few beef
cattle. Tahoe Farm Pictures.
