Desertwinds Aruzia Fun Under The Bright Lights , (both owned by Wendy Merendini)
and Desertwinds Aruzia Fun Times At Hemlock Hollow (owned by Chris Danker).

We found Skye dead in our field,
January 14, 2023, her head twisted oddly underneath. She loved running all out. I suspect she
collided with another dog, but I did not see it. She was just 4 years old. Our beautil, happy-go-lucky,
life is a party, red girl, who even loved obedience/rally work, gone too soon. We are heart broken.
2022
March 5 & 6, 2022, Skye wins WB/BOS both days at the Medina shows for 2 points.
March 13, Skye earns her first leg for her Rally Novice title, at the QCDTC trial.
April 3, she won a 3 point major at the Warren county show. April 22 & 23, at the Dan Emmett shows,
Skye was BOS over a bitch special on Friday for one point and BW on
Saturday for one point. She needs a major to finish. April 29, at the Munice DTC trials, she earned an
80 for her second leg, and an 86 for her third leg to finish her Rally Novice title.
At the DDTC trials, October 21 - 23, Skye earned a 92, 86 and 88, to earn her Rally Intermediate
title. November 18, Skye earned her second major to finish her Championship. Pictured at the top
of the page with Steve Artley and handler LeaAnne Broseus. Skye ended up ranked #3 for high scores
in Rally Intermediate and #5 in Rally Novice by BCOA.
At her first shows, since August 2019,
Skye won BW for 1 point on Saturday and 2 points on Sunday, at the Delaware Ohio shows, October 30-31, 2021.
Skye passed her Canine Good Citizen test, October 16, 2021. 35 month old Skye is pictured
with her best friend 2 year old Ria. Since the other borzoi in our house are several years older,
Skye enjoys having a younger borzoi visit us, to run and play games with. Ria is Windrift You Wear
It Well JC, owned by Helen and Dan Fraga.

No competition events, in 2020, due to the COVID-19 virus. 2 year old Skye did pass her health checks.

with our newest family member, 4 month old Chance.
14 months old.
9 month old Skye went to
her first real show, and won 2 points, beating 4 adult major pointed bitches. Pictured below with judge

Skye went to the Ft St Clair kennel club puppy match April 26, and the Echo Hills kennel club puppy match
June 14 (which was outdoors and presented the new challenge of gaiting on grass with
her head up). Of course, she was the only borzoi there. In May and June, Skye is in the Junior Dog obedience
class at the Dayton Dog Training Club, working on her sit-stays, heeling, recall (which she
excels at) and down-stays (her favorite).

The snow and below zero weather at her new home took some getting used to.
Here is 15 week old Skye on her favorite platform bed.
But she really prefers the lounge chair. The borzoi offered to share their
couches, as long as Skye didn't take her half out of the middle (last picture).
Skye was used to living in a home
with borzoi. But she was puzzled by the strange looking blue merle Shetland Sheepdogs, who
barked a lot. After a few days, Skye decided playing chase and bark with the shelties
was a fun game. With the snow gone, it was time to explore the yard and check out the grass,
so different then what grew in the sandy desert soil of her former home.
Even more interesting, was the field where the adult borzoi were running back and forth.
At the end of January,
14 week old Skye quietly rode in her crate with her toys
for the three day drive from southern California to Ohio. Pictured below - Spending
the nights at a motel, she preferred a bed, rather than her crate.
